Unforgettable experience
We had a fantastic time at Tambuzi. We went on a great game drive, saw lions, rhinos, and had a very close encounter with an elephant The guide knew what he was doing and was absolutely on top of things during the drives. We shared delicious meals together, and even baked a bread by the fire. What a special and unforgettable stay!
We slept in the tents, the beds were very comfortable. We hope to return one day!
High recommend!
I stayed there in October, it was my first visit to South Africa so I wasn't sure what to expect. Tambuzi Baobab Camp was our first stop, it by far exceeded any expectations we had. We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage, which was beautifully spacious and clean. The owners were very welcoming and friendly, and accommodated all of our needs. I would recommend this camp to anyone who is visiting this area of South Africa!
Great experience
We were 3 guests and we booked one night in the tent at Tambuzi Baobab Camp. It was a great experience! We had 2 wonderful game drives and spent the evening in the boma around the fire where the food was cooked. A real authentic experience of living in the bush. Just loved it! The tents with own toilet and shower were very clean and comfortable. Our hosts/guides Isabel and Gert as well as the staff were just great, knowledgeable and very friendly. I warmly recommend this camp and I will go back there!
Trip of a lifetime!
Thank you Tambuzi Baobab Camp and guides! I had a trip of a lifetime!! My guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. He really loves his country and it was evident throughout my trip. Lodging was beautiful, food was amazing, sunrises and sunsets stunning and I loved riding in the game viewing vehicles! I'm an animal lover and there was no shortage of sightings throughout the Greater Kruger National Park. One of my favorite sightings was watching a large herd of elephants playing together in the water! We stayed for quite a while watching them. It felt like I had a front row seat to Animal Planet! It was so surreal! I was also deeply moved when I had the amazing opportunity to see a few rhinos too! Seeing so many wild animals and being in such a close vicinity to them, was absolutely life changing. I am so thankful to Tambuzi Baobab Camp's staff and guides for making this the best trip of my life! I will definitely be going back!
Best experience
Big thank you to the Tambuzi Baobab Camp staff and guides that made my stay at the bush camp unforgettable. We got on to a very clean, neat comfortable game viewing vehicle and made our way to what the guide described as our welcome surprise. On our way we had a little encounter with an elephant blocking our way but at least we got a good photo. As we drove through the 10 000 ha concession in the Greater Kruger we saw lots of animals but nothing like what was coming next. A male leopard in a tree, what more could you ask for on the day of arrival. We spend 15 min at the sighting and truly enjoyed the moment and the rest of our game drive. Upon our arrival back at camp it was even more beautiful than we could imagine with the fire burning, and the smell of freshly baked bread. Well done Tambuzi Baobab Camp. Wish you lots of happy clients for the future.

The Details
Tambuzi Baobab Camp is a rustic yet comfortable bush camp in the Maseke Game Reserve. The reserve stretches over 8 000 hectares in the Greater Kruger area, and shares open borders with neighbouring reserves and the Kruger National Park. Wildlife abounds around Tambuzi safari camp, but the camp itself is fenced, making it ideal for families with smaller children.
The main outdoor areas of the camp include a lovely boma area with seating and a mighty baobab, the camp's namesake and the centrepiece of the camp. Beautiful fever and mopani trees provide wonderful shade in hot summer months.
Dining is done outdoors on a raised platform when weather permits. From the platform, a wooden staircase leads to an excellent viewing platform that allows for the observing of wildlife.
